  • STOP PRESS – March 2016 – A League First!

    Yvonne Josse, the League’s National
Welfare Officer, initiated a Jewish
delegation to meet Richard Harrington, the
Minister for Syrian Refugees, at the Home
Office, pictured here with Edie Friedman

  • Rapid Response to Unusual Requests

    When ORT Israel wanted a 15 minute transcript of a 1946 film, it was the League of Jewish Women who came to the rescue. The request was for someone with good shorthand skills to listen to the documentary film PASSPORT TO FREEDOM and transcribe in English to facilitate the production of Ivrit subtitles. This new type of group enables them to be part of the League by communicating with each other via Facebook.
